Fashion ” à la française”

As a Parisian born and raised, I’ve always been surrounded by fashion. I remember looking at women in Paris, being admiring of their sense of style and confidence. As if dressing up was innate. Though, there is still this mystification around Parisian women and their sense of style. Style icons like Brigitte Bardot, Catherine Deneuve lead the way. Still, we owe Caroline de Maigret, Carine Roitfield, Vanessa Paradis, Marion Cotillard the role of ambassador these last decade. Style icons like Brigitte Bardot, Catherine Deneuve lead the way. Still, we owe Caroline de Maigret, Carine Roitfield, Vanessa Paradis, Marion Cotillard the role of ambassador these last decade. With the emergence of socialite*, fashion blogger*, influencers*, adopting the Parisian style became much more than a trend to follow, it became the ultimate goal.

We partly owe it to the photographer, Scott Shuman who created one of the most followed and recognised blog in the fashion industry: The Sartorialist”. This blog was one of the first to create a two-way dialogue between the fashion world and its relationship to daily life. The Sartorialist helped creating this love for the French fashion style.

The French fashion style distinguishes itself from other styles as it consists of wearing neutral tone clothes, wearing flats or heels. French style is classic but chic. Everything relies on the details.

Want to have a look on French style? Here is a small list of the best French fashion blogger:
